2016 Honda Civic Coupe Boasts Bold New Look
Honda has dropped the new Civic Coupe at the LA Auto Show and it’s a seriously stylish piece of automotive engineering…
The 2016 Honda Civic Coupe has debuted at the Los Angeles Auto Show and like the firm’s 10th-generation Civic Sedan, it boasts a new platform, engines and technology. However, the Civic Coupe has a bold new look and it’s one we like a lot.
Furthermore, Honda has said that it’s the most performance-oriented Civic they’ve ever produced. It’s longer, lower and wider than its predecessor, which is something coupe lovers will really embrace.
Despite riding one inch lower than its Sedan cousin, the Civic Coupe does share some of the same design elements, including Honda’s new corporate-style grill.
But while the Civic Coupe looks sportier and more stylish outside, it features a more refined interior, with new options including Apple CarPlay and Android auto capability, which comes with a 7-inch touchscreen display and will definitely appeal to gadget fans.
In addition, Honda say that there’s an extra 8.4 cubic feet of space inside, compared to the outgoing model; one of the benefits that comes with having a slightly larger footprint. Owners will also find themselves sitting a little bit lower, which will give them a sportier feeling while driving.
Under the bonnet the new Civic Coupe hides two more powerful engines, the most potent of which is a 174-horsepower, 1.5-litre turbocharged lump. The other is a slightly more conservative 158-horsepower 2.0-litre.
Despite coupes falling out of favour over the years, Honda is hoping that the new Civic Coupe will rekindle people’s love for them. Judging by its looks and the fact that it’s aimed at “performance enthusiasts”, the Civic Coupe could be a surprise hit.
Although pricing hasn’t been announced yet, the new 2016 Honda Civic Sedan starts at $18,640. Let’s wait and see how this one plays out…
