2018 Nissan 370Z Nismo will be sub-$62k

As the first Nismo joins the 370Z range, the rest of the lineup gets lowering pricing too.

The long-awaited Nissan 370Z Nismo will be priced at an unexpectedly low $61,490 (before on-road costs), according to an announcement made by Nissan Australia.

With the Nismo version serving as a flagship at the top of the 370Z sports car range, the rest of the lineup will also receive new price tags, which is great news for car enthusiasts.

The range now opens at under $50k ($49,990) for the first time with the 370Z manual. It’s a price that puts the 370Z in the same bracket as cars like Ford’s top-selling Mustang, the BMW 2 Series and the Volkswagen Scirocco coupe.

The best news of all is that Nissan says the lower pricing structure is permanent, enabling customers to realise more value than ever before.

At sub-$62k, the 370Z Nismo is very tempting. For just $11,500 more than the base version, buyers can get their hands on the Nismo variant, with its more aggressive body kit, revised suspension, 19-inch RAYS alloy wheels, larger brakes and red/black Nismo interior, among other things.

At present, the Australian Nismo lineup only comprises the $300,000 GT-R NISMO. When the 370Z Nismo is released, the admission price to join the Down Under Nismo club will be significantly lowered.

While full local specs are yet to be revealed, the 370Z Nismo is expected to improve on the output of the standard version’s 245kW 3.7-litre V6.

Speaking about the 370Z Nismo’s impending release and pricing, Nissan Australia managing director Richard Emery said: “The impending arrival of the Nissan 370Z NISMO allowed us to re-look at pricing across all variants.

“The NISMO version naturally sits at the top of the Nissan 370Z range, but we wanted to maintain competitive pricing. This re-positioning offers a range of price points that will be attractive to a wider group of customers.

“We hope this will drive sports car buyers into Nissan showrooms, giving them more choice and offering significantly more value for money.”
