Goodwood Debut Set for Nissan Juke-R Nismo
Nissan say they will unveil a Juke-R Nismo at this year’s Goodwood Festival of Speed. Excited much?!?
We recently told you about Toyota’s plan to showcase six retro-liveried GT86s at the upcoming Goodwood Festival of Speed. And if that wasn’t enough for you to consider attending already, Nissan’s latest announcement might be.
That’s because the Japanese giant who brought us the GT-R has something special up its sleeve. They call it, the Juke-R Nismo. We call it, insane.
Remember the Internet sensation that was the Juke-R? A Juke mini-crossover with a 3.8-litre twin turbocharged V6 from a GT-R shoehorned in. Well Nissan are now upping the ante…
If the teaser image above released by Nissan is anything to go by, the Juke-R Nismo will sport a more aggressive front bumper than its predecessor, but still keep the GT-R-inspired bonnet vents. The signature red Nismo trim also remains.
So what can we expect?
According to Nissan, the Juke-R Nismo will use Nismo’s latest technology, styling and running gear. That means we could potentially see the Juke outputting 600-horsepower (like the GT-R), which is a seriously appealing thought.
A top speed of maybe 180mph and 0-60 in around 3.0 seconds should be enough to put smiles on the faces of Juke fans everywhere.
The original Juke-R was built mainly for fun, but when interested parties started throwing their cash around, Nissan built a handful to order.
It’s still unclear what the point of the Juke-R Nismo is at this stage, but Nissan could find that they’ve created a monster. After all, they are transplanting all of Godzilla’s power into the body of a Juke. Expect it to be extremely rare, very expensive, yet highly entertaining.
