New Toyota RND Concept Teased
Toyota have teased a new production-ready concept car which they plan to fully unveil next week and that they say is ‘fun-to-drive’ and will be highly accessible.
It’s a concept car called the RND and ahead of its scheduled January 26 release, Toyota have given us a very sneak preview of what to expect.
As you can see from the image at the top of this post, Toyota aren’t giving too much away right now, but the good thing is that we won’t have to wait long to see more. That’s because the Japanese automaker plans to unveil the mysterious RND in just four days from now in the UK.
Breaking with tradition and not using an internationally recognised motor show for the unveiling, Toyota are creating a real sense of mystery around the RND.
So what do we know about it?
Well, not a lot, unfortunately. Only that it’s “ready for fast-track development that should see it changing the face of motoring within weeks”. What that means we’re not quite sure, but it certainly is intriguing.
Furthermore, the fact that Toyota have also said, “Manufacturing and product supply have been secured and on-the-road pricing has been fixed at a level that will make the RND Concept accessible to the widest possible market”, makes us even more curious.
Toyota were also keen to highlight that the RND would build upon the brand’s already ‘fun-to-drive’ cars – reference to the GT86 coupe perhaps?
We’ll update you with more information after the official release, so in the meantime you’ll just have to wonder…
