Nissan GT-R VS Ferrari 458 Speciale Video
See what happens when Evo magazine pit the Nissan GT-R against the Ferrari 458 Speciale in a track battle around the Anglesey Circuit in Wales.
In their bid to compile a leaderboard of fastest cars, Evo magazine have been putting some of the world’s best through their paces at the Anglesey Circuit in Wales. The video below shows the two fastest lap times so far – the Nissan GT-R and the Ferrari 458 Speciale – side-by-side, which makes for a great comparison.
For a long time now, the GT-R has been called the supercar slayer due to its incredible ability to outperform cars that are theoretically out of its league in terms of performance and price.
However, the GT-R’s own price tag and specifications have risen to such an extent that it may well be in supercar territory of its very own now. Despite this, we still absolutely love it! And we jump at any chance we get to see it being pushed to its limits around a track.
But, even though the 458 Speciale has now stolen the GT-R’s fastest lap crown, we feel it’s a mere usurper sat atop the Evo leaderboard. After all, we’ve yet to see the more potent GT-R Nismo do a lap, which is surely a much fairer opponent for the 458 Speciale.
Let’s not forget that the Ferrari 458 Speciale in this video is a stripped down version of the regular 458 and sports a whole lot of carbon fiber, making it significantly lighter. Who knows what the outcome would be if a regular 458 was to do battle against the GT-R?
When you watch the video, just remember how inherently different these two cars are. One boasts a turbo six up front that drives all four wheels, while the other is a mid-engined, rear-wheel-drive V8 that only has two seats.
