Nissan Pulsar Nismo Unveiled at Paris Motor Show
If you’re a fan of the iconic Nissan Pulsar GTI-R, then Nismo’s latest take on the car that defined a generation will have you salivating…
Last week, The Nissan Pulsar Nismo was unveiled at the 2014 Paris Motor Show and gave fans of the legendary GTI-R something to really look forward to in the future. But, while this is still just a ‘concept’, it’s one that’s got a lot of hearts racing.
Now while the Pulsar is a sensible car that occupies the highly competitive C-segment, the Pulsar Nismo is a whole new beast altogether. So, if you’ve seen the standard Pulsar and weren’t exactly bowled over, fear not; the Pulsar Nismo will restore your faith.
Okay, so the standard Pulsar is rather bland and not exactly exciting but luckily Nismo managed to snatch one and let it spend a night in their haunted house. What emerged in the morning is almost unrecognisable.
Reports reveal that the Pulsar Nismo will be outputting somewhere between 250bhp – 275bhp- which means anyone who owns a VW Golf GTI, Renaultsport Megane or even a Seat Leon Cupra should be anxiously checking their rear-view mirrors for fear of seeing a Pulsar Nismo.
The Pulsar Nismo rides low. So low, in fact, that it’s carbon fibre front spoiler is literally brushing the ground. At the back, its two exhaust pipe protrude from the rear bumper like two shotgun barrels peering at you. The sides are dominated by 19-inch alloy wheels which boast massive, ventilated brakes.
Open the door and you’ll be greeted with Recaro bucket seats, alloy pedals and a three-spoke steering wheel amongst other things – all of which add to the Pulsar Nismo’s overall appeal.
What do you think? Will the Nissan Pulsar Nismo have VW Golf GTI owners worried? Or will it be difficult for Nissan to mimic the success that the GTI-R enjoyed?
