Ready for the R36 GT-R? It might not be far away
Nissan will be taking a GT-R-branded hybrid (yes, a hybrid GT-R) LMP1 to the 24 Hours of Le Mans next year. Rumoured to have a hybrid powertrain capable of putting out around 784hp with 737 lb-ft of torque.
To be able to get that power Nissan have setup a 3.8l twin turbo V6 with an electric motor sitting behind it. The GT-R will be racing against other well known Le Mans competitors including Porsche, Audi and Toyota.
There have been hints that the R36 design may be heavily influenced on the Concept 2020 Vision Gran Turismo car which Nissan revealed earlier this year, although most likely it would be a bit toned down to allow for street use.
